Pickleball can be endlessly fun and infuriating all in the same rally. We have all felt the thrill of hitting a great dink or drop, forcing a pop-up from our opponents only to hit our next ball in the net. At times we leave the courts on top of the world, we couldn’t miss today! Other times, exit stage right.

When we lack foundational pieces, our highs never seem sustainable.

Which makes our lows feel that much lower. In the sport of golf, many amateurs dread getting a birdie on the first hole. When met with this completely desired outcome, they will quip “well it’s all downhill from here!” and most often than not, they are right. If, like so many golfers, you share this sentiment in pickleball, it might be time to start asking some questions.

Do you have a swing you trust? Do you have shots that you can rely on when you need them? Throughout my career, I have had to ask myself these very questions and oftentimes, the answer was no.

During 1:1 sessions I will either ask participants to share an area of grow or observe where you are at, and make adjustments and recommendations for your game. I will tailor your lesson to specific body movement that I observe to help improve your game.

Hey there! I’m Joel

I have always enjoyed sharing the gifts I have with people. I love teaching people a new skill and watching them use it in a game setting. Watching what skills I have taught become their own and knowing I have made a difference in people's games.

I am very good at breaking down skills into manageable steps. I am able to use my own varied sports background to tailor my instruction to the skills set other people are bringing to their game, Because Pickleball is a combination of so many sports it allows me to use other peoples sports backgrounds to teach new skills.

  • My lessons are based out of Red Deer. Please contact me if you need to arrange out of City lessons.

  • I offer a variety of specialized lessons ranging from proper overall swing mechanics on the forehand and backhand to the footwork required to get to the ball. If unsure of what to work on, through conversation and hitting balls, I can also assess areas of growth in your game!
